Surely among the least of the deprivations caused by Covid-19, I note that today was SUPPOSED to be ‘Opening Day’ for our golf league.

Can a single swing of the golf club evoke a scene of biblical import? Or is it mere vanity to think so?
I’ve been pondering these questions for several days now – ever since I was the lone witness to a hole-in-one during League play.
We golfers are a curious breed. Generally, we’re reasonable chaps – with enough sense to come in outta the rain.
But once we’re on the course? Not so much.
The ‘gimmes’ flowed freely in my foursome at the golf league the other night.
Look closely, and you can see some evidence that my favorite golf course was completely submerged just a few weeks ago. But things are definitely looking up at Aberdeen today.

Another season of the Golf League drew to a close this week, and as I drove away from our home course for the final time in 2015, I realized that my heart was full of joy.
