We golfers are a curious breed. Generally, we’re reasonable chaps – with enough sense to come in outta the rain.
But once we’re on the course? Not so much.
With temps in the upper 90s…and a Heat Index that soared well into triple digits…conditions were not ideal for keeping one’s cool at the charity golf tourney I played in just the other day.
The ‘gimmes’ flowed freely in my foursome at the golf league the other night.
Look closely, and you can see some evidence that my favorite golf course was completely submerged just a few weeks ago. But things are definitely looking up at Aberdeen today.

Another season of the Golf League drew to a close this week, and as I drove away from our home course for the final time in 2015, I realized that my heart was full of joy.
I gave half-a-thought the other day to pulling up stakes and moving to China. The impetus was a story I read online, noting that (technically), golf is illegal there.
So moving to China seemed like a reasonable solution to me – a way to end my obsession with a game I’ve struggled to enjoy of late. Continue reading
