One thing you notice, when out on the Sea of Galilee, is that conditions change quickly. In just a heartbeat, the sea’s glassy surface can turn choppy – and suddenly you’re surrounded by whitecaps.
I got a jolt when I opened up the Sports section of the local rag the other day.
There it was: proof…in a disorienting sheath-of-newsprint…that the entire world has gone sideways.
Word came yesterday that there’s a signed contract to sell Mom’s house. A few contingencies still to be met, sure: But it appears this deal is just about done…putting the wraps on the search for a buyer that began well over a year ago.
The news wasn’t entirely good in my estimation.
The beautiful flower bed saddened me enormously…and instantaneously.
I’m pretty sure my grandchildren had a ‘Jesus’ moment the other day.
Look closely, and you can see some evidence that my favorite golf course was completely submerged just a few weeks ago. But things are definitely looking up at Aberdeen today.
Some might say this candle of ours has seen better days.
At the very least, it’s seen a LOT of days…
