One of the striking things about the post-resurrection stories in the four gospels is how different they all are. Matthew, Mark, Luke and John don’t seem to agree on even the most basic details — such as who, precisely was there? What did he / she / they actually see in and around the empty tomb? And why was it so difficult to recognize the risen Lord?

Will we shed any light on those particular questions in With Us Still — this blog of spiritual ‘finds’ in Lent, the Easter season and throughout the year? I’m guessing the answer is ‘no.’ On the other hand, I’m intrigued by the idea that the risen Lord will find ways to make himself known to us — even in these days, just as he did to his disciples on the road to Emmaus.

I’m not entirely sure what that means, or how it will play out. Will this be more like a ‘regular’ blog than a ‘daily’ blog (like the one I wrote during Lent 2013), perhaps? Or does the Holy Spirit  have other ideas entirely? Can’t say for sure — because ‘found’ spirituality depends, at least in part, on not making too many plan ahead of time. But I’m game, if you are. So I invite you to follow along…even though I don’t know exactly what I’m inviting you to.

Is today a day that another gift of ‘found’ spirituality will arrive?

What bounty will the Lord set before us next?

Make our hearts ready, Lord! Give us eyes of faith, to see!
