Today’s find: O Rising Dawn

O Rising Dawn, Radiance of the Light eternal and Sun of Justice: come and enlighten those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death.

In these last days of Advent, we express our growing anticipation for the coming of the Savior with the O Antiphons — prayers, based on scripture texts, that have been part of the Church’s official evening prayer (or Vespers) for more than a thousand years.

For December 21, the title we use for Jesus is ‘Rising Dawn, Dayspring, Sun of Justice’…
