Day 47 of “shelter-in-place”: in which “side yard” becomes “garden plot.” And it becomes apparent to the Little One that he has lost his footing.
Today’s find: Pandemic Pop-in
Generally, my wife Gerri has found better ways than I have…to make our pandemic “downtime” productive. Sorting through stuff we’ve stored for ages, for example. And yeah: turning all those trays of slide transparencies into digital files we might actually take the trouble to view once again.

“Too bad Thomas didn’t have Zoom…”

“Social distancing” affects tons of small enterprises…some of which are obvious, and some less so. I’d put “retreat centers” in the less-than-obvious camp, I think: We tend not to keep them top of mind, unless we happen to be going on retreat in a given week.
Which is why I was intrigued by a new program launched at LaSalle Retreat Center this week — called Self Care with LaSalle. It provides some simple, everyday ways for folks to use this “downtime” productively…and may perhaps help generate a little revenue for LaSalle at a time when income from in-person retreats is virtually nil.

Today’s find: Beyond
One widely-reported benefit of the recent shelter-in-place orders has been the chance to do some deep cleaning. Which, at our house, turned up an entirely unexpected Paschal blessing.
Today’s find: Grand opening
As sunlight faded on our socially-distant Good Friday in 2020, I noticed that our dogwood buds had just begun to open…and offer their beauty to the world…
