Sunday Snippets

You’re invited over to RAnn’s place for Sunday Snippets, a weekly gathering of Catholic bloggers. There are several regulars, but you’re never quite sure whom you’ll meet there…so you might want to check it out!

This week’s Question of the Week: Where do you get your Catholic reading material? My knee-jerk answer was going to be “Amazon.com”. Then I realized that a LOT of good authors (and book tips) come to me — through sites like The Jesuit Post and Richard Rohr’s daily meditations. In addition, I was recently introduced to — and impressed by — Eighth Day Books, an independent seller of sometimes hard-to-find titles. A worthwhile place to browse!

At my blog this week, I reflected on one we might consider the original Catholic blogger — St. Francis de Sales, whose feast day we marked on Friday. De Sales never knew the Internet, of course, but I think he would have been comfortable with the format of a wordpress or blogspot journal. And I’ll betcha you can find a great deal on his stuff at Eighth Day Books, if you’re so inclined!
