Four generations, present at the first round of family carols sung yesterday on Christmas Eve. Isn’t that a wonder?
Four generations, ringing out their Joy to World – at the amazing notion that the Word became flesh. “All things came to be through Him, and without Him nothing came to be.”
Four generations, offering witness that “what came to be through Him was life, and this life was the light of the human race.”
Four generations, sharing the light of His presence – rejoicing that “the light [still] shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”
It’s a wonder, truly, that the Word says to these four generations: “You’re worth it. You’re worth My coming down from the throne into the world.”

It’s a wonder, too, that the Word comes to us, in a form of powerlessness. Comes to us as an infant. Comes to us, needing our cooperation … for this wondrous light to continue to be spread throughout the world.
Let us pause now…to recall that we are in the presence of the Holy & Merciful One.
